anyone have any tricks or hacks to free up a few pony's on a 2002 focus hatch?

headers, cams, cam gears, tuned, chipped, throttle body bore/space, high flow cat, high flow muffler,valve springs, bigger exhaust, turbo, supercharged, CAI, higher compression pistons, upgraded air filter... tons more

honestly where i started with my svt was exhaust, CAI, jackson racing supercharger, and then a good tune. I wouldnt waste the money on a TBS didnt make enough of a differnce to pay for it on mine, Now if u wanna run nitrous they are perfect but other than that a waste imo. But if u have just a zx5 or zx3 just start with exhaust, easiest 10-15hp i got out of mine. Not to mention my MPG went up almost 2 with it, But if u have the Duratec motor good luck cuz i have hardly seen many over 200hp or so.

I will say this word of advice.

Drive slowly in rain and avoid all "larger" puddles.

I still carry around a chunk of engine block off a 2002 Focus hatch because i was romping through puddles and eventually toss a rod right out of the block and destroyed the entire motor. So just a word of advice, your car will blow the fuck up if your not careful in water

yea my buddy had one with cold air intake and he did the same thing

usually make it breath more so Headers/Intake/Exhaust is the usual.. get s bigger throttle body if ya want

i like the V8 swap too...its only what $15k for the whole package? if you really want to bump power look into some good head work.
