1992Chevy K1500
You read that right, I'm doing the big 4! My alt is attached to the engine block through the bracket andthe bracket is tiny and has almost no surface area. So I'm going to upgrade that while I'm at it. So I'm basically doing: Alt + to Batt + Alt - to engine block - Engine block - to Batt - Batt - to chassis - I'm going with some Knukonceptz wire because it's not too expensive. After everything is connected, I should use 10 feet of + and 15 feet of - (not too bad, considering the wire I'm going with is 1.75 per foot). But I need some good lugs that won't cost me too much. Color doesn't matter. I have an Optima and 2 top post connectors for it, so I need... Ummm... about 5 or 6 connectors. Where can I get some? Can someone please post a link? Thanks in advance. Shyne151
If you are ordering wire from knukonceptz why wouldn't you just order ring terminals from there too? They have ring terminals?... I can't find them. Gotta link? In a way, I feel like an idiot. 1992Chevy K1500
just go from the alt to the battery and frame no need to go alt to the block. I'm not sure how well the block is connected to the frame. I want a solid connection. I'll check it out before I order, though. 1992Chevy K1500
Found the terminals. My computer wasn't showing several of the links, the one with the terminals was one of them. Thanks for the help. tibs
the alternator makes the power for your electrical not your block. if your going to your alternator for the ground no need to go to the block Quote Tibs 99 F-150 Build 8 twelves 8 - Re SE 12"s 2 - SunDown Audio Saz-3000d's 1 - vx4004 planet audio amp big 3 1/0 gauge MECHMAN 250 amp alt MySpace
1992Chevy K1500
the alternator makes the power for your electrical not your block.if your going to your alternator for the ground no need to go to the block So even if I replace the wire instead of complimenting it, my connection will be good enough? Like I said, I just want the best possible connection.
