ModFreak Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 Ok so a buddy of mine has turned to me to help him put a system in his crown vic. He at the moment just wants to run 1 10" kicker solo L7. He gave me the dimensions of his trunk where he wants to put it. I came up with building the box 36" x 12" x 10". The only question i am wondering though is would a 1 1/2" wide port be enough on a box this size and also what would you recommended to tune the box at? I was thinking some where around 40. He is not looking for a crazy loud setup, he just wants a good amount of thump as well as keeping it clean sounding. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, ModFreak
Guest Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html 36 12 10 10 .75 2 17 red numbers ^^ that will be good for it i think. idk the recommended space on hand for a 10" L7 but kicker has their manuals on the site.
ModFreak Posted October 5, 2009 Author Report Posted October 5, 2009 what if we were to go a little taller but drop the depth to 8" would that be kind of dumb?
Polecat Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 as long as internal dims are the same your fine...me, I'd tune a little lower. Behind every great man....is an underwear tag!
Gotloud555 Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Tune it around 35 hz. Try the subwoofertools.net or if want a perfect understanding then do the pencil and papers calculation.. Let me know if you want the formula..
