Im not using spray foam either. Im using closed cell foam tubes. Stuff you see at home depot for wrapping water lines. Cut it to length and shove it in the cracks with a stick and seal up the holes. I dont want to use great stuff yet because I have a feeling Im going to build a new box for it this summer. Even then I will probably just make it a litter wider so it will fit the opening better than it is now. There is a good 1" + gap on the sides but its hard to see because if the trunk covering.

ah ok, i knew you werent using spray cuz i saw you saying you were using foam strips, but alright i might need to try that. i think my box will be the last one i build for a while so i might be able to seal a little better, but if your new one is anything like this, then i cant wait to see the new one!

I love car audio so much because I will never be done. I can never win, and I will never get it finished or perfect. It always has me coming back for more, I can never get my fill of it, but I get what I need.

So far we couldn't be happier. It slams hard.

The only things we need to work on are the electrical and the amp. I have the amp wired down to 1ohm and its a 2ohm stable class D amp. We have been running it for weeks that way and being careful with the volume knob, so far so good. I would feel better is it wasn't all running off a stock alternator, 90 amps, one Excide AGM up front and the 3 BatCap 800's in the trunk. When the system starts hitting hard the voltage starts dipping into the 12.3 - 12.6 range. Definitely need a HO alt and some bigger batteries in the back and then later an amp that's 3000 watts and 1ohm stable.
