HHR Ed Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 You can find a few cheap dB meters under $50 and $30, but they dont read properly. They arent calibrated, they read on a weighting scale where as the Term Lab official meter in unweighted. And they usually only read up to 126 dB or 136 dB. The cheapo meters are reall designed to measure ambient noise and mid range frequencies such as vocals, car exhaust, lawnmowers etc... So they dont read Bass frequencies properly.
