darkstalker113
basically i feel as if my subwoofers should be giving me more bass than my friends lower end memphis subs in a sealed box. i have 2 4ohm jl w3's in a ported by like this one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1218011770155 and i have this amp powering them. http://www.quantumaudio.net/solaramp_qsa1500d.htm 2 gauge power and ground. its a 97 buick lesabre. hes got some boss amp and everything and i just feel like i should have more bass. i have the subs wired like this http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learni...C_4-ohm_2ch.jpg even though its a monoblock amp it has 2 sets of speaker terminals. if i wired them up like this would i get alot better performance? http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learni..._4-ohm_mono.jpg thank you to whoever responds. Guest
every monoblock that has 2 sets of speaker terminals is wired in parellel internally. so you can have 2 subs wired to the amp and not to eachother and the amp will parallel them for you. your amp can output 800rms at best (looking at the 4x20a fuses) whats your friend's boss amp model number? plus, every car is different and every box is different. making the loudness vary alot. edit: definitely follow post 2. raytard
some cars get loud for no reason. I sat in a cobalt with 2 10in sealed kenwoods off a 400watt amp and it was as loud as my 2-12's with 1200 watts. i hate to admit it, but something about those subs and that box and that trunk and that car just clicked and made it beat. and buicks unfortunately never seem to be loud cars unless something drastic was done. Same with older montecarlos and a couple of lexus's. If you want to get louder just go bigger, more power, more subs, better box. it may seem like it should be louder, but sometimes your car just screws you Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC

That's because the bass waves don't have enough room to form with your windows up. Drop the windows and it can form a full wave which is louder to the ear. Quote Too many projects, too little time...
