Big Lo
The bold has me worried.Plus: According to the site, it has a 250 amp fuse included. It claims 8000 watts at 14.4 volts, but even at 100% efficiency at 14.4 volts at 250 amps, it would only do 3600 watts. At 80% efficiency it would do just over 2800 watts. It might do what it claims, but I highly doubt it. Plus the THD is a little high. Most good, high quality amps of similar power have closer to 1% THD from what I've read. I don't mean to get out of topic too much but what is the math you used to deteremine that? I need to know cause I'm kind of new and it's some handy stuff to know. If it ain't too much trouble I would really appreciate it
Boon
Extremely similar to the AP1500/3000s. Same factory, almost the same amp. Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
Marlo Stanfield
looks like an older stetsom 6k or 7k type design. Those amps were kinda fragile. Its actually 2) 1500w amp boards side by side in one case.Actually, thats like the older Hifonics Colossus design too. Which was a fantastic amp that did 3200w The old XX-Collosus were great amps for sure. The old XX series amps from Hifonics were so stout, I still have an older Hercules that I've let my buddy use for the last 3+ years with no issues at all. IMO the OP can get a much higher quality amp for a ton cheaper than the one posted. Quote 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... QX56 is staying stock til I get loud... CaptainzPlanetz
Holy Shit 2400 Dollars for a 3K Rms amp that does its power at that High of a THD, no thanks. I would go with the Sundown 3000d for 1K dollars less MSRP pricing, and will do alot more than rated. Edited October 19, 2009 by CaptainzPlanetz Quote ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ I agree, the Crunch GR 3000D Pro isnt too much money and does almost 4K. But he is in Malaysia, he is paying pounds or something, whats the conversion rate and shipping etc.... 1992Chevy K1500
I don't mean to get out of topic too much but what is the math you used to deteremine that? I need to know cause I'm kind of new and it's some handy stuff to know. If it ain't too much trouble I would really appreciate it Voltage x Amperage x Efficiency (in decimal form) = power (in watts). Ex. 14.4 volts x 250 amps x .8 (80% efficiency) = 2880 watts. OH, and I re-read, it doesn't come with a 250 amp fuse. In fact, it looks like it doesn't come with any fuse, so you could use any size you wanted inline on the power wire. I'd run a 250 since that's what's recommended. He could get much better for the price. For Example his price for a Sundown 3000d would be 947 pounds. Quote ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............
