Yeah but I thought that what made it go back and forth was the current switching back and forth or some shit...whatever, if it works it works.

A speaker audio signal is just an AC current put through it at a certain wattage voltage and wavelength. When you plug it into a wall outlet, you will get an AC signal at 60hz but 15amps and 110 voltsRMS. MOST subs cannot handle this type of power for more than a minute at max because it's the equivalent of thousands and thousands of watts, plus at a higher voltage than the sub can handle so the coil short curcuits.
