resident_virus
Headunit: Alpine 9855R Amp: Kicker 750.1 Why there is no audible loudness that I noticed when the volume starts @ 21 going 26 (ms ax is 35) But when I checked with DMM theres an increase in AC voltage from volume 21 to 26, because at 26/35 thats my reference volume in the HU to set the amps? Its just I cant hear an increase in audible output? Anybody experienced this?
Decaf
then set it at 22 instead of 26 and just adjust gain accordingly

resident_virus
clipping how come? does clipping affects volume levels? I know that it will produce dirty signals but still volume will increase when you turn the knob?
resident_virus
then set it at 22 instead of 26 and just adjust gain accordingly thanks! I'll try that... Does it means my headunit is faulty?
korey_hofer
your headunit makes no sound until 22? I would think your head is fucked previously known as wenn_du_weinst aka fucking internet coward supreme. Decaf
no he said there is no audible difference in the volume numbers read, lol sounds like ur alpine starts to clip at 21-22... so just set ur gains with that in mind and ull be good
resident_virus
Ok thanks for your inputs. I managed to solve the problem in my case & I want to share it to other members My Alpine CDA-9855R like other high end alpine headunit has a Media Expander (MX) feature. by turning the MX OFF my volume level has improve its output (audible volume). compare to before when its on my audible volume stops at level 21. Thats why in the first place when I set gains with (DMM) the MX is off & I noticed that voltage increases everytime I turn the knob. I like when MX is off so you can the turn headunit up to 75% of its max volume & set the gains of the amp 9 o clock position compare when MX is on Volume at 21/35 amp gain at 12 o clock postion So there you! Hope this helps!
