Orion HCCA recone & Box build log.

Ok, so I finally went ahead bought the new 2009 dual 2 ohm recone kit 130$ and built this box exactly to orions specs. 1" mdf 1.2 cuft 108 cu in port

The problem is, it is not very loud and it does not go low. I know i need to break in the recone still, but when i turned it up the first time to see if the recone was rubbing, it was not very loud. To hit the lows do i need a bigger box..or a 15? Anyone want to trade?

IDK, to me that looks like a really tiny amount of port area, I thought the HCCA's liked boxes on the larger side.

At the moment to me it looks like the Subs Motor takes up almost the whole inside of the box.

tHAT LOOks like a super small port with a REALLY Small box.that and how are your amp settings?that and whats your box tuned to?

Amp is a KX1 5500D running 1 ohm.

3x3 port is 9 sq inches. not 108 . Does that thing havea ton of port noise its really small.

For that sub I would make a box closer to 2 cubes, with a port 12 tall about 2.5 wide.

for some reason he was talking about port displacement, not port area. the port is 9sq in of area 12" deep thus making it 108 cubic inches of port. Still ridiculously small for that sub.

the port is 2"X4.5"X12"

and it is supposed to be tuned to 38 hz. It doesnt seem like it tho
