Marlo Stanfield Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Those are the same dimensions that you mentioned in the other thread correct?? If so using just .75 mdf on each wall(double baffle is necessary) and not counting port/woofer/bracing displacement either you only have just over 7ft3 to work with. After adding in all of those you would have such little room per woofer that it would be a complete waste of money and product. 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... Torres Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 not necessarily. he'd have perhaps 5-6 cubic feet of net volume to work with, which would be fine. i have 4 cubic feet per 18 in my install and it works fine, granted they're different subs, but it still works. i will be rebuilding the box to about 5 cubes per sub whenever i get the time tho.
BulletInjection Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 that box is perfect, mine is 40 wide 16.5 high 28 deep My build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...8920&st=100 http://www.youtube.com/Bulletinjection
Marlo Stanfield Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Your enclosure is also 7" wider and 3" deeper, so they aren't exactly the same... I just did the box volume for the OP again and assuming that he used .75" wood, a double baffle and regular walls all the way around he'd only have 6.5ft3 to work with. That 6.5ft3 is before port, woofer and bracing displacement. Realistically i can't see him having anymore than say 5-5.5ft3 at the most for 2 15" BTLs. A single 18" BTL in that size enclosure with 4k running to it would be perfect. The box size would be on the small side for an 18 but the power would make up for the inefficient design. The OP has just confused me though because he made a different thread asking about a single 18 off 2k rms in this same exact size dimensions. So if you could just keep it all to one thread and ask seperate questions in that same one, then it would prolli make it easier for people to help you out. 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer...
