Low_Fuk Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 They hit hard, flex my windshield in a sealed box. They are free air subs and I was wandering if they will hit harder in a ported box? If so at what hrt will it hit the hardest. I have been looking for info on ported boxes for these subs and can't find anything on them. I am also considering chopping my existing box and porting it by running the port to the back of the box then run a board directly behind the sub on both sides. I admit, I am the guy that throws shit in the car and pounds it, Im not that technical about it but I would like to be. Im just not sure where to start.
AI James Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 they arent "free air subs" and yes they will be louder in a ported box provided you have the room for a proper enclosure
Low_Fuk Posted November 10, 2009 Author Report Posted November 10, 2009 aren't free air subs when the motor has a port through it? also My box I have in the car now is huge. when people start talking about square feet and what not Im not good with that so...... any idea what size box I would need to port this?
enemyofsilence Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 IMO, i would suggest tuning to 38-46hz, depending on your taste. with my experience with cvrs, they dont like low tuning. Team Bass-Hz
Low_Fuk Posted November 10, 2009 Author Report Posted November 10, 2009 what ever I do Im wanting to tune so that when these blow I can run some dc 15's in the same enclosure. Im just not good with the tech part.
