best for ext cab trucks?

Recommended Posts

i hve tried sub up port up, sub forward port up, sub forward port on the right hand side, sub forward port in the middle, sub up, port in the middle...everything, and loudest to the ear is everything forward

where was the port located?

What truck/setup/box size/etc?? Also is it for daily or burps??

I've seen many different things work in different trucks/setups, so wht works for one person mostly won't work for others.

it will be in an 01-03 f150 ext cab, 2 15" audioque HDC off 2 audiopipe ap15001d, and its for daily but i wouldnt mind getting decent numbers

in my truck so far my downfire box does better than my old one firing upward

i had 2 rockford punch he2 12'' d4 ina slot ported box fireing up on a mtx 500d n it sounded ok but wasnt loud

i had 2 mtx 4500 15's wit my mtx 500d fireing up sealed n didn't get anywere with it

i did 2 mtx 5500 15's wit a memphis pr1000.1 up sealed n didn't get anywere with it

when i build my new downfire i took that sealed box, fliped it n put some pannels to keep it lifted up off teh floor n the loudest in my truck so far was downfire

even my old cerwen vega vmaxx 12's acually got louder than my 5500 15's did in a sealed box turned upside down ran as a downfire

n even my cuzin said in his old tacoma a downfire was loudest n cleanest too

n i tryed my mtx 8000's in a ported up fireing box i built for my 5500 15's n for some reason i think it was tuned to 38htz but it played lows like all hell, it would drop n start shakein my stering wheel n doors with just one 15 off mtx's specs, got about the same output from my lil boss gt 300w amp as i did my pr1000.1 just not as loud

n i tryed my 8000's sealed fireing up n sounded like shit really

but put em back in my downfire n here we go again :hairtrick: lol

for some reason my truck loves the downfire boxs, bass is strong, plays lows nicely, and the higher bass notes in rock n country also, hell even Celion dion was puttin up some pritty good flex

onlything i dont like about my setup is my sliding back glass vibrates to damn much n anoys the hell out of me, n wit my birch box i cant break the damn thing lol

so i guess sealed downfire for me workes best in my truck so far, till i try that ported upfireing box for my 8000's n see what its outcome is

n logan would u get better responce if the subs were close to seat or no? i got extended cab but not that much room for a big box behind the seats so i unno how to go bout doin all forward, n does it change wit port on either side also?

here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp

I'd say subs/port forward or subs forward/port up in with that setup in your truck... I've seen with more boxy pickups that sub forward/up with aeros to either side(depending on meter location) will work best.

1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... QX56 is staying stock til I get loud... It's only getting walled off if I don't meet my goal @ SBN.

Pioneer AVIC-N2

(12) 12" RE SXs old model.... (3) AB VFL 500.1 @ 1ohm each

Dual 300amp Ohio Gen alts.... (10) Northstar NSB-125s

26ft3 @ 33hz w/ a ton of port area

156.5 @ 40hz @ dash, Db Drag style / 153.2 Bassrace

so would you recommend the port on the passengers side or drivers?
