sean 371 Posted May 9, 2007 Report Share Posted May 9, 2007 Nope. I run a pretty small flame and keep it centered on the ring terminal. The terminal usually fits on tight enough to stay where it is. The rubber heats up a little, but not too bad. I flowes at a lower temp. and if you are using an iron dont forget to tin the tip. and for faster soldering tin the wire first. also use the correct watt iron for the job.
