finkster
just looking for a simple box for a sundown E8. Want it tuned for everyday listening, with an emphasis on rock. i was thinking maybe 38 hz. general dimensions I have are 20.5 wide, 23 long (like front to back of car), and 9.25 tall. This is going in a stealth hatch....I was thinking sub back port up....but who knows. would like to go aero ports if possible....I have a 6 inch one laying around. Thanks guys. I am no pro, but I think tuning at 38hz is too low for emphasising rock Quote 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz
fritosaregood
jacobs specs reccomend .6 cubes tuned to 30. I had 4 in 2.4 cubes at 30 and it sounded great. six inch port would be too big for just one 8 though Quote seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970

kl0wn
How much are you going to be listening to rock? If a decent amount, and I was you, I would probably tune it around 43-48hz. But I am not pro box designer either, nor do I know much of the E8's and how they would sound tuned to that Quote 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz
finkster
why does jake recommend 30 hz? i guess my question is, how would output at around 50 hz sound when tuned that low with an 8? fritosaregood
why does jake recommend 30 hz? i guess my question is, how would output at around 50 hz sound when tuned that low with an 8? It gives a good flat response. I think with his new sa8's he is reccomending 30 to 40. the same should work with the E8's Quote seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970
Torres
i personally wouldnt tune a box much higher than 40 hz if it's for daily listening.
