brewer_brewer
it can also effect them with to much port. to much port will make the woofers almost act free air its like an exhaust system on your car. to little will restrict and choke the motor to big will eliminate all back pressure (not a good thing) Quote REFS http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/itrader.php?u=2026 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/44535-official-brewer-brewer-feedback/page__p__625998__hl__brewer__fromsearch__1entry625998 "you're not allowing natural selection to work, you're like the guy that invented the seatbelt"
jack
i have 30 inches of port per cube lol... it works fine in my application 121 inches of port.. four cubes that is alot much to much for daily use. with les port you have more "control of the subs" which will improve the longevity. 12-16 per cube sounds about right, a few slot boxes i had were built a little more towards the spl side of life but daily and they were 17 cubes with 200 inches of port. my bow for 6 fifteens has less than that. 30 per cube sounds more like a "burp box" ratio to me. Torres
Any square/rectagular port is considered a slot port. not necessarily. it's only considered a slot port if it shares at least 1 box wall as part of the port wall to effectively add in 'end correction' of the port. if a port has 4 of its own walls, like steves, then it's technically not a slot port. wL<3bass
On higher Fs, more SPL oriented subs I like to stay between 16-20sqin per cube and for more daily driver SQL I usually stick to 12-16sqin.
