But the 50Ws? that can't be right, I thought he was saying I've done something wrong.... I'm so lost half the time, I think I'm gonna go make a thread titled "Hi my name is josh, I get confused then aggrivated, try to help me!" :shot: YE...... me to and I am married with a 7 and 5 year old and sole income provider in my house, and I needa shoulder replacement (cant get it cause I am "to young"). drank like a fish and quit, was on pain meds for years went to rehab. in our pain every day ........ dont mean I am an ass, dont take everything personal there is a lot to learn, your pop prob knows some stuff but when was the last time he delt with newer stuff ? the shit I use today is 180 degrees different from the stuff I used 10 years ago. so read and learn

skittlesRgood Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 apology accepted having different subs hooked up to the same channel is a problem. they have different coils and react differently when played. hooking them up to the same channel is kind of like 2 people jumping on the same trampoline. you still bounce but it feels retarded lol. the 150w isnt getting to each sub. they are all sharing that power, they all take a potion of it. if you can get a 200w amp (maybe your dad can find one) you can hook up the 12"s to that and keep the 10"s on that 150w sub channel and ill bet you it will sound 10x better. there are some good helpful people in this thread. listen to everything they have to say. ill bet a few of them know even more than your dad. learn from them and you can go impress your dad with your killer system If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. jmsonoma03 Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 it looks like you put terminals on the power and ground and bolted them to the top of the amp's terminals. they are supposed to go in the hole and clamp down from a set screw. if the power wire touches the case of the amp that could be big trouble. with the wire bolted to the top like that it seems dangerously close to shorting out. if i remember right those older alpines came with both a screw with square washer same as the speaker output terminals and the allen set screw so you could wire them either way? just saying
