New, help me with my first setup please.

Recommended Posts

Just get ONE sub, a 12" or a 15" (I'm quite sure it will fit), in a good custom ported box.

Audioque seems to make good products, they have a lower line of subs that can be good too. You can take an amp from them, or buy used.

You don't have a big budget, so keep it simple. You must keep money for the wiring, the accessories, ...

With this budget you will have to do all the instal yourself !

If possible, get some deadening material for your trunk : secondskinaudio Damplifier for example, look at their forum and/or website.

Save some more money, and, later, you will upgrade your front speakers( don't need rear speakers) and buy a 2 channel amplifier for them.

Good luck bro!

With your budget I'd personally go with:

2 12": https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...view.shopscript

Enough power for those subs and a great price: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-HIFONICS-BXi-2010D...mplifiers?hash=

0 Gauge amp kit: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KFX-PK0

RCA cables: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.c...rodID=KARSS2.6M

Speaker cable. I'd get 12-15 ft: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KAR10SS

Head Unit. 6 volt preouts, usb and aux ports, 20x4 watt rms for $130: http://onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_2085...rion_CZ309.aspx

For that system your looking at ~$940, you could build your own enclosure for $35 if you have the tools. Use 3/4" MDF board. Anyways, that's my input, hope it helped.

Oh and I just remembered, if you can find a good price on them, 2 12" funky pup subs will get louder than anything mentioned in this thread. Be careful.

I'd suggest you do a ton of reading on the forum + read as much as u can from bcae1.com... It's best to get sum basic knowledge under your belt before you start throwing money around. Between the 2 sources there is plenty of information that can get u started on learning all of the basics.

This. Also it's nice to get ideas from everyone on here, but it's also helpful to find one or two people to PM back and forth for ideas. A lot of people on here are extremely smart about this stuff. What I have right now is my first system, but I read a little bit before jumping into it.

good luck.

I'm talkin about a dual enclosure, for 2 subs. Not sayin the subs are gonna be the brand Dual. And someone on another forum told me to get 2 15" Fi BL's if they can fit, with a Power Acoustik BAMF4000/1D 4000W Amp. Does that make sense?

Do not get this amp... It doesn't do anywhere near rated, overpriced for what it actually puts out, poor build quality, and extremely inefficient.

I wouldn't have enough for his recommended setup? I'm lookin to spend around $1,000, cause I got christmas and my birthday the day after, so I'll be gettin monies

In this $1,000 have you thought about how much it's gonna cost for a shop to install it and build you an enclosure for the woofers?? For a box + install you're looking at anywhere from $200-400 alone.

I highly doubt the OP has any clue how to build his own enclosure, set alone design one. He did ask what ohm and gauge meant when we referred to the size of the wiring. Plus with this proposed setup he would need to at the minimum - big 3 upgrade and at least one group 31 batt to have even the minimum electrical setup to back up the amp.

The OP from what I can tell has literally no idea on anything regarding systems and really does need someone local to show him even the basics. Before throwing around your money and watching products get ruined you really should get some even basic knowledge under your belt. Truthfully I'd suggest starting with like a single low power 12 or 15 and an amp that does like 300-500w at the most to start with. It's just not a good idea IMO to have such a lack of knowledge and start with something that is semi-big like this. You could easily spend like $400 to get a decent 15 + 2 channel + wiring kit and start from there.
