Nightshade
Actually breaking in a subwoofer you are supposed to play low freq's to loosen up the suspension. A lot of Db Drag guys that I know use 20hz tones at low volume to loosen the suspension on their comp subs. Just make sure you keep the volume much lower than you would listening to it to start out with. Oh yeah they also play the subs free air too. It will allow the suspension to move more than it would putting it in an enclosure. I'm not bullshitting you here at all cause I know it may sound crazy, but every Nightshade that Jacob and Brandon build is tested free air with a Sundown 1500d on it with almost full power before they let it ship to the customer. It will break in over time. You will notice. did you break in your 9515's? even dd has a disclaimer on there web site about breaking the sub in due to the suspension being so tight. so does aq. i have seen first hand what will happen to a brand new 9515 if you crank up 1700rms into it right out of the box. The guy had to pay for a new recone. and not every company breaks them in like sundown.
