03navi
fuse protect the power sources, never over fuse what your wire can handle. for example if you use 8 gauge wire...it is rated for about 60 amps of current. if you put a 150 amp fuse, the wire will start to melt before the fuse pops. resulting in possible fire. yes fosgate has 500 amp fuses i use a shitload of them in my truck to protect the amps, and the batteries. i need that size because i have 12k in power which results in a possible 1500 amps of draw at full tilt ohh really ! i didnt know that! 03silvergt
Why would you use a fuse that big? Wouldnt it be best to use a curcuit breaker? kirill007
You could also answer all the questions in 1 post, just click QUOTE, then reply. You shouldn't fuse it at 400 amps, because most 0 guage wiring can only handle 300 amps. I just saw you have 2/0 guage wiring, i think you could use it without any problems. Why would you use a fuse that big? Wouldnt it be best to use a curcuit breaker? Every time a circuit breaker trips, you need more amperage to let it trip again. example: you have a 300 amp breaker, first time it trips at 300 amps, next time at 305, next time 310 or even more. (70 amps) and using a AGU 100 amp fuse. it hasnt given me any problem but do you think i should upgrade to ANL fuses and get a 125 amp? what do you think? thanks.
