Recommended Posts

Hey, i've been waiting to do this so i figured its time. im asking for any and all opinions on what speakers for my mids/highs. im thinking of running them with a Hifonics ZXI-8408

4 ohms: 110 watts x 4 chan.

2 ohms: 220 watts x 4 chan.

Bridged, 4 ohms: 440 watts x 2 chan

Thanks,

Hey thats a good start! My opinion is to stay away from any oval/square speakers. Try to replace with a round speaker making adapter plates if nessary. Shoot for the components and don't be afraid of powering them.

Alpine head unit

4-5.25 MB Quarts

20-10" pyramids super Pro

1 Lanzar amp

why stay away from oval speakers? i fail to see your reasoning.

anyways to the OP, i would suggest MB Quart speakers. the Discus 6.5's i own sound super clear and crispy and get super loud off of just deck power. i cant imagine what they would be like off of an external amp.

T3 components are nice sounding and a great bang for the buck.... about a 100$ for the pair and they take some power...

Full eclipse system is next on list.. soon to gut and redo the honda as new project/rolling buissness card :)

i miss the sound of those old school strokers on beast amps :(

are you talking about making adapter plates for where the 6x9's are located?? and putting like 4", 5" or 6 1/2 or somthing

It is said that oval speakers don't deliver the best SQ. It's because the cones flex abnormally compared to a round cone, similar to a square woofer.

That's what he meant.

stay away I would much rather buy another set of RF Punch 6.5's then the t3's any day!

they say 65 watts but I am putting around 120 on them no problem and they get loud as hell while still staying clear :good:
