i was wondering if there is something that you can download online to measure your db level?

accurately no...

but i found a program

called true RTA

its fun to watch it move. but whenever the bass hit the DB level went down to like 80....

it might work better on ur comp tho

To be accurate you would need a Term Lab Pressure sensor along with the sofware, which would be around 500 bucks, but if you just want to compare against your freinds with unofficial scores and your not running crazy amounts of power you could run with the Walmart meter for 25bucks.

just play it and the bars will move

it has a peak hold too

but really do not expect it to work well

my DB level dropped extremely when the bass started

i think it choked out my mic

Yeah it clips your mic to bits. I had a play with it (got the high resolution version) with a Behringer ECM RTA mic and I think it was good for about 125dB.
