I hope to get a Dyson in the next year or so. worth the 1200-2400 price range... I don't care how good a vacuum is, I'd never pay that much for one. But then again, I'm a cheapskate. I want a clean house, but $500 gets the job done good enough. I can't justify 2k on a vacuum, my wife was looking at hydra vacs too, but their more effort than they're work imo.
