Two questions

My first I feel kinda slow for asking about but I really don't know, I have two type r 12's in a ported box, one day I played salt shaker because I've heard it gets real low, but when the bass hit it was really quite compared to other songs. Is this because of the way my box is tuned(I have no idea what its tuned to, it's a free box my uncle gave me until I build my own), is it my subs or were my expectations just set too high on the song? lol.

And also has anyone ever heard of suicide ports? This guy came into my uncles shop and asked if either of us knew how to do them and we had no clue of what they were, I've tried googling it, but I just get self help sites.

Stupid questions but they're both bugging me to death, I like to know things.

Well it is more than likely your box. Because the same thing happened to me I saw a vid of a song and it looked amazing so i downloaded it and it turned out to suck. Or it could be your download. But I'm not sure these are just my opinions and personal experience

I've been around along time and I never heard the term "suicide ports".

Its possible the guy was talking about aero-ports but just didnt understand and mis heard someone talking about them.

Dang mad fast replies, The guy claimed he'd been building boxes for a while, I don't remember exactly what he said but it was something like running the port all the way back and then starting at the back and going all the way to the front, it kinda sounded like a t-line I think.

If you can tell us your external dimensions of your speaker box (height, width, and depth) as well as the wood thickness, and how many ports your box has and the dimensions of the port(s) (height width and depth) and we will be able to tell you your box size and tuning of the box.
