trust me... and no I'm running my amp @ 28.28 so no its not clipping...

what are the full dimensions? left out the depth of the box and height of the port. unless it's a slot port, so 14.5"? to get 3.5 cubic feet of net volume, i have depth at 32.625". i'm going to guess port is 2" x 14.5"? and 8" long? i hope it's now 2" x 8" or it's WAY small. actually if your port is 14.5" x 2", you have 29 sq inches of port, which is WAY too small too. that is tuned to about 41 hz. you're at about 8.3 sq inches of port per cubic foot, which is very low. general rule of thumb is ~12 -16 sq inches per foot...so i'd definitely up the port area.

now that i said all that...it just dawned on me that that may be an aero port? i'll leave all that i typed since you havent given too much info and may still apply, but if that's a 2" port, you have 9.86 sq inches of port. even worse. you need about 43-57 sq inches of port for a 3.5 cube box.

maybe it's late and i'm tired so i didnt read things right lol...but if you can give length, width, and depth of the box (not just height and width) and length, width, and depth of the port (or if it IS an aero port, just the diameter and length) then i'll see what i come up with. from what i can see...it IS in your box. an enclosure is 80% of an install...keep that in mind.

Honestly, I'm off the box subject I know you're trying to help but I used a calculator and everything I know im putting out under 40hz easily... It's not the box at all, its the amplifier tbqh... the sub sounds awesome when more powers being put through it. I've said this maybe 10x now? I'll remeasure the box tommorow just to be safe kk? I think it's Aero since theres no luver at the end of the port making it longer, its just a straight lined port.

I guess bottom line is I need a new amplifier whats a REALLY good say? 1600RMS amplifier I can get in a $200 price range or cheaper? I don't care if it's name brand as lon as it actually puts out a clean 1600RMS... (1OHM stable of course..) needs to be 1600RMS x 1 OHM and around 1000 @ 2OHM

When I say my box is fine my box is fucking fine (and congrats on being drunk I wish I was...) your guys aren't understanding, when I turn my amp up the subwoofer POUNDS like im not even gonna lie it makes my former 15's look like sissys, but when I run it @ 28.28 like you all mentioned it sounds like almost nothings there, it seems like my amp doesnt even put out good output unless its 3/4 up on the gain and some +dB is added (like maybe +3/6 out of 12) I mean im not trying to crank everything up at all, I don't need too but I should be getting more than this out of my amp shouldn't i?

lol i just gave you several reasons why your box may not be working out and you want to ignore them? ok that's fine, your problem not mine :01nocomment8so: just cuz you put them in a calculator does not mean they were put in the calculator the PROPER way. but...it's your box

also...why need a 1 ohm stable amp? unless you plan to add onto the system later, you cant get a 1 ohm load with dual 1 ohm coils. you can get 2 ohms and .5 ohms. so you're better off finding an amp that puts out the power you want at 2 ohms, or get a 2 ohm stable amp.

I plan to upgrade later.. I'm not being a dick at all, you guys are just a bunch of elitists I know 90% of what you've all told me... honestly my box MIGHT be the problem in some aspects but it's a decent box and I know its tuned lower than 40hz I know it for a fact it may not be much lower but it's I know how to put numbers into a diagram.... Ontop of that, even if it was my box it wouldn't be this bad I know for a fact my amp is the problem BECAUSE when I ran my 15's on it the comps I ran it full tilt, gain all the way up +dB on 12 and freq @ 55hz... So now that im running the Fi and I'm actually being descreet with my gains it sounds like dogcrap... Why? because it's not getting enough power my gain is only half way no +dB etc. etc. not to mention my trunk is completely closed off... My main question at the whole start of the topic was how dissapointed I was with the Fi @ 400RMS 28.28v honestly sounds like no bass.... so I just need an amp that can put out 48.48v cleanly and I'll be all set (which is 800RMS i believe

I mean honestly, it has to be a power issue when I turn my amp up and the sub smacks hard, then I turn it down and it sounds like crud... personally instead of spending $250 on a oscilliscope I can just get a new amp for that price and not worry about it.

Your gain is not a volume. Just because you 'turn it up' doesn't mean you're increasing the wattage. This is what the voltage settings are for. What amp?

Your gain is not a volume. Just because you 'turn it up' doesn't mean you're increasing the wattage. This is what the voltage settings are for. What amp?

Alpine MRP-450... I mean whatever I'll just live with it i'd rather not argue about something so stupid... If you think its my box go ahead and assume, but when I'm telling you its not you shouldnt force it into me lol.

Thanks for the help everyone... sorry for being a dink im just a little upset lol I thought this was going to pound @ 400RMS erm I figured I was going to need a new amp oh well... I'll just run it @ 28.28v until income tax then I can run 800RMS to it.

You're problem may be the sub amp config. I may have missed what your sub is.

edit: if its a dual 1 ohm...then your sub will do .5 or 2 ohm...set your gain to 40v
