are you trying to run the sub at 2 ohms and will the sub run at 2 ohms? If you're trying to do 400 rms and are cabable of doing it 2 ohms then your gain should be set at 40v on the DMM... square root of 400=20, 20x2=40

You're problem may be the sub amp config. I may have missed what your sub is.

400RMS @ 2 OHM

I have my sub wired up right and everything, I actually played the sub on a 50hz tone @ 40v and it sounded clean as hell I believe.

Just play a 50hz tone, play with the gain and turn it up till it sounds shitty at 3/4 volume than back off till it sounds clean.

EDIT: don't use bass boost either.

and you're sure about this? I thought the equation was 400RMS x 2 (since its 2oHM) = 800 then the square root of 800 is 28.28 if i'm doing it wrong than that would make total sense... because @ 40v this subwoofer friggin slaps.

I have two speakrs wire soldered together connected the coils positive to negative... I have no oppositve polatiry all positives and negatives are how they should be and all my wiring the amp is fine... I don't know what it could be guys... I bet a lot of people running this subwoofer on 400RMS are doing what I did and set the gain really high with bass boost.. Now I'm not going to do that but I fail to see how anyone could be getting full excursion on 400RMS with the same voltage im running.

when a bunch of expert box builders are telling you that your box is the problem... you should choose to listen!... especially when one of them designed his own box calculator... anyways... what they are trying to tell you is... the difference in output between getting a new amp and getting the right box... may be similar...

also your only giving that woofer half its rated power... and not to mention that it is very underrated!.. you will not reach full excursion unless you are running a box twice the recomended size..

anyways you pretty well pissed me off when you asked questions and then refused to listen to the advice.... thats pretty sablenave of you....

so... my advice is... stop dicking around with halfassed stuff... honestly you are NOT going to find an amp that puts out 1500rms for under 200 or whatever your price range was... and honestly... you would be lucky to get 1000rms of decent power on that budget.... then ask very nicely for someone to design you the correct enclosure for your woofer... and then build it correctly...

I thought they didnt' make 1600RMS in a $200 price range? LOL hifonics does... I honestly don't care what you say I apoligized, these box builders don't even know my dimensions and you're telling me its my box? eh, ok... also my car won't fit twice that size i'd be lucky to fit 6cubes in my car.
