HHR Ed
http://www.makeitlouder.com/Decibel%20Level%20Chart.txt I know that list very well, I have studied the science of sound for the past 15 years. I am most likely the one that first posted that list on these forums. Read 194 dB. Sound is comprised of rapid compression and rarefraction (vacuum) of air molecules. What we call "sound" is a linear wave of the compression and rarefraction being very close to equal or exactly equal. There is a limit of rarefraction, the limit is a perfect vacuum. There is no limit to compression. 194 dB represents a perfect vacuum. Anything over this limit is a distorted shockwave comprising of more compression than rarefraction. This is not considered a sound wave. With that being said, the loudest reproduced sound is about 182 dB. This means, loudest sound from loudspeakers.
