Do I Have A Stout Enough Electrical System?

Recommended Posts

I am currently running a PA A3000db, and a PS4-1600, and will be getting another A3000 in a couple of weeks. I am wondering If I will have to run another battery. I have an Iraggi 280 amp alternator, the big 3 in 1/0 and 1/0 wiring from the batt to the amps. I have a little voltage drop at Idle, but none above 1500 or so RPMs. Thanks ahead of time.

My System:

Pioneer AVH-P3200BT

4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors)

8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash)

1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs)

2-18" BTL's (for now)

Crescendo 3kwp (for sale)

Complete rebuild coming soon...

Yeah, I'd get another battery if I were you or two. Maybe 2 HC800's along with your batt up front. That 280amp alt is well capable of charging all three, & you will most likely have better voltage anyways if you add another or two. They add up to the equivalent of 400 1 farad capacitors, but you'll be drawing well over 300amps at full tilt bro. Other than that, your electrical sounds beefy enough.

Ok. I got my A3000 in today, so I strapped it to my other A3000, and they push my HK15X2's damn well. my problem is that I have voltage drop like a mother. I am looking at the Kinetik batteries for the back, but I just bought a red-top for up front. Would it be alright for my to run 1 or 2 kinetiks in the back with an optima up front? I know mixing batteries in this situation is a no no, but I an just looking for a relatively inexpensive solution.

a while back i talked to Eric at Kinetiks and i told him my situation with running a yellowtop underhood and wanting to run a kinetik battery in the back. He suggested it would work fine but the kinetik battery would outbeat the optima. so to say i'd just do both kinetik underhood and in the back.

Unfortunately I am too poor to buy 2 kinetiks right now, so I am thinking about another redtop for the time being.

for the price of a redtop you could get a HC800. heck it's got more CCA's than a redtop.

I know, but you advised againt mixing the two batteries. I was wanting to get either that, or the 1400

I know I am changing my mind faster than...something that changes its mind really fast, but I have a little bit of money saved up, and am currently entertaining these (and only these) options.

1. 1-HC2400

2. 2-HC800

3. 2-2 optima yellow tops

4. 1-optima blue top Group 31
