Bumpindemlowzz
I been wanting remote start for a while and with it being below zero the last couple days its been harsh... I was wondering if anyone knows how to put a remote start in a manual and if the only way is to bypass the clutch. Is there a module or something for this? lmk i dont need for people to come in here telling me bypassing the clutch is unsafe because it is but i never leave my car in gear when out of it. drumminian
you would need to take the wire from where the neutral engage switch is(behind the pedal andgets depressed when the pedal gets depressd) and have to make that trigger when you want to get it to start. it's really not that hard you could easily wire something up. but they also sell modules that do this here http://lmgtfy.com/?q=remote+start+%2B+manual+transmission Alpine CDA-9887 15" FI BL JBL BP1200.1 Rockford Fosgate p142 4" front Rockford Fosgate p1S652 6.5" rear Optima D35 yellow top under hood Big 3 all in a 1997 Toyota Tercel

Be very very very careful with remote starting a manual. If you have one doubt in your mind that your car is in gear, then do not remote start it. I have had a remote start in my crx every since I bought it, and I trained myself to never keep it in gear when i'm parked in my garage.
hotshot27
My boss at work built a shift gate so that the if the car was in gear, the shaft would touch the sensors on the gate and ground out, causing the car to not start. took him a few hours to build and a pain in the but, but worth saving someones life Current Setup: Factory HU with LOC mids/highs-Insignia components Sub- E8 in bass tube Amp- sae-1200d Show Setup: HU-Sony MEX-1HD (brings massive respect for sony) fronts - Infinity Kappa perfect comps rears- Infinity Kappa coax mid/high amp - Autotek 5600 Subs - 2 RE SE 15's Sub Amps - 2xSAE-1200D Box - 5cubes sealed Wire- Lots of Knu 1/0 SECOND SKIN

cqtama
my jeep had a nuetral safelty switch bypass wired into it from the factory, they didnt put the fuse in at the dealership though, you were on your own for that. (mostly for off road abilty i guess). i wouldnt recomend the remotestart in a manuel. i got into the habit of always parking mine if gear so i would have had some serious problems at the mall. im sure you could always trick the switch into thinking its pressed, maybe some kind of on off toggle hidden somewhere to suplly it with juice all the time R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up. Bumpindemlowzz
whats the best way to go about this then? if i just get it so that the switch is always pushed in i dont think i can drive. it would be like the clutch is always engaged... i never leave the car in gear thats what a parking brake is for... 2010 Silverado 18" DC XL 18 DC 2k XS Power Batts
cqtama
im not sure exactly if thats how the safety switch works, im pretty sure that it only makes sure your stepping on the clutch while starting the car, besides that i dont think it does anything. but if your worried about that thats why i suggested a toggle switch, so you could always flip it off after the car is started, and on when you park so you can start it using the remote. just ideas but i would get feedback from someone with more experience before you take my word for it R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up.
