Have you tried disconnecting your alarm all together? Try disconnecting the power to the brain, or disconnecting the remote start module. This will help to rule out or confirm that it is indeed your alarm causing the issue. Also search your area for import specialist shops.

hmm...i will go try this now...

of course its 10 degrees out and snowing... :spiteful:

Before you try it please take a picture or write down how it is wired. You don't want to start disconnecting things and forget where they went.

haha...read my mind

i went out there took a look under my dash, and said wtf?

shits a mess....

i see a small clear plasic box with three wires in it...this box also has a red led light...and when i move the box the light flicks on and off...so im not sure what thats all about

then behind the nest of wires there is a larger black blox....not sure if this is the brain or not...

fml...im gonna move this to the security section and go take some pics...

The black box is going to be your brain. Usually the clear box is a motion sensor. If you see a small spring in there this will confirm it. The power wire to the brain is usually the largest gauge wire. Or if you are up to the challenge, disconnect the whole alarm system. Make sure you pull the power off of the battery before attempting this.

Post pics so we can further help, I'm no real expert. But i'm sure one will chime in.

Good luck! :good: make sure to tell us what the culprit was.

What model alarm do you have. Are your wire bud connected of solder? I may have the relay pack at the shop. hit me up.

Also check where did they tag the tach wire from, i had a car almost the same thing, they had used T-tap's and the t-tap had cut the wire under the hood. But still was making good connection on the alarm side, so the remote star work.

its a viper...wish i could remember the model...but cant for the life of me...its probably 4 years old...7901? idk..basic alarm w/keyless entry and remote start.

anyways...here is a pic...im assuming the connectore i circled is the main power for the brain? there is also another connectore right beside it thats the same size....and two small ones on another side

That clear box does look to be the motion sensor. Also looks like a easy disconnect on the brain, just pull out that harness to the brain and that should do the trick.

If it's a solid LED light it's most likely in valet mode...

As far as the Bad Remote start relay a mechanic won't know much about it so i wouldn't bother taking it back to them..

The light you see come on and off is most likely the shock sensor..

I would check the tach wire to be sure they got the right tach wire..

If not i would check all the connection at the ignition coil...

FYI i'm an MECP certified installer.. I have specialty training in DEI and Autopage alarms...
