ISO Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 If it helps I checked for clipping with a 50 hertz test tone ripped at 256k and left everything flat and my 2nd gen 30 gig started clipping around 95% and thats where I locked mine. As far as the Alpine goes I don't remember noticeing anything when useing the Ipod connection as I usaully had the treble boost on all the time for the headphones. If your desperate to know I have a test bench and everything I need and could have propper results in an hour but to be honest I'm busy, just stopped to eat. LOL I have the Alpine CDA-9856. I would think that since the Alpine head unit has a direct connection to the ipod that all the Ipod settings would be bypassed and it would all be controlled by the Alpine head unit. Since you cant use any of the controls on the ipod while it is plugged in to your alpine deck. I can post some pics but it would be alot neater if someone in the area had a video camera. I'll use the 30 gig iPod with an Alpine CDA-9856 and the iPod connection for the CDA-9856. For now though I'm going back to cleanning, as said before I hate cleanning so got to do it while I'm in the mood.
