Kicker Guy
Im not putting them down, HELL i have 4 hifonics 1606ds.Ive ran t1ks in a dodge ram last year and a lot more people gave it more respect then my 4 hifonics amps. Its just rockford was around when my dad was in highschool and people just know its good...no great quailty. and about it doing 12k. I had no idea. Just my .02 hhr i saw your big boy the 10k and i loved it. But i still would want a rockford by choice. Personally I would run the upper end hifonics amps over RF. But thats why we have so many brands... because people like different stuff. The sampson is actually similar to the DD Z1 amp, and a bunch of other top 7K and 8K boards out there. We were getting just over 10K out of ea. on one setup. So as a matter of power, the Sampson would so much better than the RF. (as long as you have good electrical). But I wouldnt suggest using the sampson for daily music playing. Actually I have seen more bad T4000s than Sampsons. But I have seen issues with both so I wouldnt choose either. But if its between those 2, the Sampson for burp #s and The RF for daily. But they are in such different power ranges that I dont think you can compare. The T4000 vs the Colossus or Goliath is a much better comparison. The Goliath would do more power and is just as good for daily music. The XXV Goliath can easily do 6K. The Colossus will do around 3500w so that close to the T4000 and much cheaper. And I believe the Colossus is much more solid. The T4000s rattle loose easily. alvitae
Since i'm an spl sort this question boils down to watts per dollar for me. Not over rated/under rated. It's marketing. You take a 5000 watt amp and plaster 10,000 Watts!!! all over the package with max in tiny letters and you sell a ton. Advertise something as 4000 and have it pushing 5 thousand and people say its under rated and like it. Both ways sells amps. But which is cheaper per watt and/or has the quality you need. That should make the choice easy.

HHR Ed
youve seen moree rfs bad huh? yah add me too it mine fried ffs sending to rockford for repairs try and score a couple of the new 2500.1s if you want RF. RF used to be awesome, then the last couple years they were kinda iffy. But the new amps are bullet proof.
