teamace24 Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 I am planning on building a slot vented box this weekend for my two Audioque SDC2.5 15 inch subwoofers and i came up with a design but i want to know if someone can estimate what my tuning will be and what net volume my subs will see. My box will 48 inches Wide, 18 inches tall, and 26 inches deep. The Port will be 8.5 inches wide and 16.5 inches tall. Also total port length will be 26 inches. Wood will be .75 inch thick and sub and port will face to the rear of a truck. I am shooting for a 35 hz Tune with 9 feet of net volume for both subs together. loudeclipse Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 as far as i can tell using Exposport's box calculator found on this site, your box will net around 8.5 cubic feet tuned to 32 hz with all of the dimensions you provided. I changed a few numbers for you. If you make the port length 15 inches instead of 26 you will be tuned to 35 hz and net 9.36 cubic feet. just thought i would try to help. I also guessed at your subs displacement since i could not find it so i ballparked using my subs as an idea. I put in .25 cubic feet for both of them.

Decaf Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 can u make the box any bigger? what amp what kind of bracing will u be using stick to 16sqin of port per cuft ur gonna want to have more volume and higher tuning, 34-38hz is great for those subs ill help more when i get a few more answers

The actual wood for the port will be 16 inches deep but the 26 for port length is me adding the L1, L2, and end correction which is 4.25 since my port width is 8.5, i hope i make sense. Also yes i want the box to be 9 cubic feet internally so each sub can see 4.5 feet, and i want the tuning to be 35 or 36 but no more than that. I will also stick with the 16 sq inch per cubic feet rule which i am following.
