I plan on walling my mustang. Building a box that is 10 cubes after displacement. And making the port @ 35 hz peak 44 hz w/ 100 sq in of port volume. 2 18 inch IA Wardens will be going in it. Someone tell me. And personal opinions or advice on this build. High spl numbers? Or waste of time?

That's what I was thinking. Someone that is pretty experienced told me that. I don't know whether he thought I was getting 15's or if that size of enclosure will build more pressure.

well when u are attempting to give them 7-14kw u need more cone control

u get that from a smaller enclosure and less port area

44hz is no fun tho imo... is this to compete with or what

The recommended enclosure by this company for the 18 is 5-7.5 cubes 60-120 inches of port 32-37 hz. I want it to sound decent. But mainly be straight loud. I'm trying to suprise people on exactly how loud of a system you can have and what you can do with minimum space. Like a sports car. Any other suggestions?

What's up Decaf. Yea. It's mainly for comp. First step on any system is knowing the enclosure you want. That's what I'm trying to do. As you already know. 16kw per sub. Nuff said. lol. But I still want it to sound decent. This is a DAILY driver.

yeah not enough port area for 2 - 18s. gonna give you some sound but you can do 4 - 12s in the same kind of area your looking at and its going to be alot more bass. my opinion

well make the box as big as you can

keep port area ~12sqin/cuft for some added cone control since u dont need to meter this all the time and get every last db at one frequency

brace the chit out of it/resin it/roundover everything u can

and tune as low as you can without shrinkin ur box too much, uve got alot of power so 35hz should be a good compromise

manu says 5cuft w/60sqin, thats 12sqin per cuft... so up ur port area to 120sqin if u can

I was thinking of 12 cubes 150 sq in port volume at 35 hz(peak44). You think it'll move some air. lol

If imma do this. I want it done right. I don't wanna build 6 different boxes just to see what to do. That's why I ask questions. And I appreciate everybody givin me feedback.

10ft and 120 sqin of port sounds like it's within the companies recommendations. I had a box with those specs and 2 18s and it did OK. The 12ft and 150sq sounds better for daily, but I don't see anything wrong with the 1st box.

Many members on this forum love lows- which you'll have an easier time getting from a larger box.

My next box will be the minimum enclosure requirements from the same company- and around 36hz. 36hz sounds great daily imo- gets the lows in MOST music, and puts up a bit better score in my vehicle (peak 32 and 42/43).

If you're going to just build one box do the 2nd one- you can always take up some of that extra air space with extra bracing and fiberglass resin or something.
