What to expect from mid size sedan?

Any estimates on my trunk set-up?? Rough guess maybe? My electrical is bone stock. Not even big 3 yet. amp is MB Quart DSC2000.1D. Gain is about 1/4 the way up, no bass boost with 2 12" Kicker L7's in a pre-fab box off HiFi. (The one with the gray baffles)

So far before my electrical dips to low I can get people to say "It's hard to breath" or they cover there ears/get out of car. I know it'll get somewhat louder with a stiffer electrical. At what point do people think it gets to loud for them? Does it depend on the freq?

It's hard to guess what a system is going to hit , I had an HCCA 10" that metered higher than someones FI btl 18". yea i was tuned to 38hz with twice the power with the sub walled behind the back seat. here it is here

anyway his 18" sounded crazy he had a huge box tune to 32hz nasty loud , but with the windows up he only got a 137.x not to impressive at an spl comp when someone two classes below you beats your score but ,all in all his sounded louder.

i gotta bump this old thread just cuz im finally getting some numbers ive been after in my car

accord sedan. doing a 152.1 in the kick now, real close to a 50 on the dash too.

the setup is in the sig, I did have to cut the car a bit, but no wall.

thats bad ass I wanna hit shit like that , maybe you can help me out. i'm hitting a 145.x out my trunk. What are you tuned to??? how big is that sub?? you running an 18? I'm running an 18" AA SMD off 4k rms. my box is tuned to 36hz and is 4.1 cubic ft. again i'm only hiting a 145 any advice??

thats sick what are you peaking at??? I'v noticed my car seem's to peak at 46hz , is this close to yours. how big should i make my port area if i build a new box thats 5.3 cubic ft 5.0 after sub displacemt. and what do you think i should tune to???

just from what ive seen, walled off anything is possible, and in the trunk almost anything is possible

thorshammer gets 150's all day on music with 10's out the trunk (seat folded down ofcourse), i think he can even do it with 1 10 hooked up...

in all reality, you're probably looking at a 39 bassracer, peaking in the 40's somewhere so long as everything is done right, lower if you box/amp/electrical sucks

My usual peak freq is at 45hz,

but with this box its peaking at 41hz. im thinking because this time i have alot more port area in my daily box.

make your port around 14 to 16 sq inch per cubic foot. maybe up to 18 or 20 if you have the room,

tuning will depend on your preference. i like 30, some ppl like 35

yea i was thinking about 5cubic ft after displacment, and not including the the port volume. So if i'm peaking in the 46's what should i tune to? i'm looking for spl so whatever tuning you think would be best to peak at 46hz. I have heard about this thing called resonence frequency responce. it's like your car plays that note loudest. So if my cars resonence frequency is 46's how would i test this ???and how would i tune for best spl. I know it's still going to require some trial and a few boxes befor i hit a 155 but i know it can be done .
