Hifonics 1610D Problem

This amp is about a week old. I've checked and re-checked all the connections and they seem to be all good.

The does not get warm, or smelly, just randomly it will turn off and come back on when it wants to.

What could be causing this? The only thing that I can think which I didn't think would matter is my Mids/High Amp remote wire I spliced into for the Hifonics amp.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I can still get a RMA number and send it back, just don't know if its something i have hooked up wrong or the amp itself.

How its wired:

Power wire running back from battery into a distribution block, 4 guage into both amps

RCAs ran normally

Remote ran back from the radio fuse in the fuse box and spliced for two amps

Ground is to a bolt under the back seat, bare metal that was sanded down.

2 Alpine Type R 1242Ds wired to 1ohm.

try taking the remote line thats spliced and only run it to the 1610....if it stays on, then Id suggest wiring in a simple relay just to boost the remote wire signal....

x2 on checking this but also did u check the fuses?? Just take your time going step by step, as if you were initially installing the amp again.

The fuses looked like they were getting corroded and the amp is less than a week old, what causes that? I'll definitely do the remote wire.

Take the advice of the few, trust me they know what they're talking about... I would also recommend redoing the remote and checking over all of the grounds.

definitely what marlo said too....but where did you put the fuses man? sounds like water may be gettin to them...if that line is corroded and not making a good connection, that could be your problem too

The fuses on the amp itself are corroded.
