**LOOK** Collection of computers I built/modified

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just wanted to share a pic or two of all the PCs I've messed with. Working on Computer Hardware Engineering in school, so I guess it kinda makes sense huh? :spiteful:

I'll start it off with my Apple Powermac G4...swapped the CPU, video card, DVD drive, almost everything out with better stuff. Also painted it Dodge Inferno Red.

Next is my personal PC from a few years ago...acrylic case, AMD 3000+ single core with some nuts overclocking. It was beautiful haha

And a small form factor PC I built for my Dad to run at the front desk of his office:

And my current rig (pride and joy right here...humming along at a cool 4.13GHz)

Thanks, yeah the little Silverstone SG01 is really light. That one actually has fans with blue LEDs that turn orange once it reaches a certain temperature inside. It's neat stuff.

Those amd 3000+'s were some nice overclockers... I had one back in the day. Took mine from the standard 1.8 ghz I think it was to 2.2x on stock cooling and then 2.4x on water without changing anything but the clocks. (no voltage changes etc)

What is in your current system?

Anyways, nice looking rigs.

I had the 3000+ up to 2.55 on air for 24/7 use, it must have been an amazing sample. I booted it at 2.7 and 2.8 but those weren't stable for long.

Current rig is as follows:

CPU: Intel E8500 @ 4.13GHz (stock 3.16GHz)

Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Pro

Memory: 4GB Corsair Dominator @ 1100MHz

GPU: XFX 8800GTX (kickin' it old school I know)

Sound: ASUS Xonar D1

Hard drive 1: 160GB Western Digital

Hard drive 2: OCZ Core V2 30GB SSD (this thing screams)

PSU: Silverstone Strider 700W

Optical: Samsung 22x DVD burner (has lightscribe, barely use that though)

Case: Antec 900 w/all Cooler Master LED fans

Monitor: Acer 22" widescreen (5ms, 1680x1050)

Haha go for it...pics would be helpful too. If anything, this will inspire some people to try building a rig of their own.
