A Sony SPL Car?

Unless I'm very much mistaken, this is your first system. Take a moment and listen to those who have been doing this for years........

T-Lines are great for music and response but they're just no good for SPL. If you really want a meter-focused build ('SPL' car) you want a ported box.

T-Lines play flat, which is the opposite of what you want for SPL.

I've seen 142 from a single 8 in a ported box off ~400w.

Yes, you are correct I am still fairly new to the Audio Scene. My first box was a Sealed Box with 4 10's in it. I also build a Round port box for a friend. I know there is alot that I still need to learn. That is why I am using cheap subwoofers to try different designs. If I had the funding you bet I would run out and Get a Boogie Monster with 2 or 3 k watts ! I want to learn and try the fundamentals before I go sinking a lot of money into an audio setup. If I dont hit 140 on Sonys I wont be heart broke. I am just wanting to be loud with something different.

Just keep building till it gets loud. You should have no problems breaking 140 with a decent box imo.

You dont need a $500 subwoofer to be loud. Building the right type of box is =/>than what "TYPE" of sub you run.

I believe the secret to box building is know your subwoofer t/s specs, obtain a reliable box designing software (winIsd) (free)

Hold on a second... you want to learn the fundamentals, and you also want to build an iso-loaded t-line for 4 subs? These 2 concepts are COMPLETELY opposite.

I think you would struggle to find anyone on this entire forum that has built an iso-loaded 4-driver transmission line...

Picture a T-Line, only with 2 subs face-to-face in a push-pull (isobaric) configuration.

thats what i was thinkin, and it didnt seem like it would work right to me.

it would work correctly just its hard to seal the subs . So i am only running a t-line without the iso setup. Yes it gets plenty loud for what it is and I am happy

you can get better used products for the same price as those sony's, and i wouldnt bother with a t-line just go ported

I already built my t-line with 2 sony 10's and am happy with it for now. Next will be 6 10's in either a wall or clamshell
