Dozier Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) Ok when my sub is turned up really loud I know it is not bottoming out. I am pretty sure it is clipping. I will turn it up and on the high notes it just sounds normal, but on the really low low's, it starts to pulse on whatever tone it is on. kind of like a soft popping sound...This is clipping right? Which means the amp is pushing all it can and is not getting enough power to it or something right? Does that mean the sub can still handle more power if it is not bottoming out yet? (amp is working harder than it should, could be a voltage problem) turn your amp down a bit and it should disapear... Ray Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 You xxx will never bottom out, its impossible, could also be the amps inability to play that freq. Say 15hz, some amps are not able to play down that low. (safely) Like roscoe said Id turn down the gain just a hair and see if it goes away.
