Hotdog Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 I am specifically looking for anyone that has put a duel Alt setup in a 2003 Ford Explorer or 2003 Mercury Mountaineer with a 4.6l V8. that was a Picture I took of my alternator at one time. The Alternator is located in the top middle of the engine. I did search but could not find anything. If it is possible or it has been done show me some pics please. I would like to run my Stock alt with another aftermarket one, but if that is not possible then I will have to go with on big one. I would just go ahead with one High Output alternator instead of running a dual setup with your stock one. It will probably be cheaper to run one H.O than it would be to buy a dual bracket, a second alt, and pay for installation.

I want two alts so I am covered down the road for future upgrades. Takes power to make power I think the most I would upgrade would be a Saz3500 for subs then still have the 500x amp for mids and highs. Eventually adding another 500x amp for more mids and highs in custom A pillars and doors.
