8000watts Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 when i first put together my system(damn near 3 years ago), i listened to it to make sure everything was cool and was satisfied. then i just turned the car off and heard a boom from the subs and a pop from the mids. i quickly turned on everything but everything was cool. i turned off the radio first and didnt hear the noise so i turned off the car. since then, i've always turned off the radio first then the car. a couple amps, speaker set, and subs later, i accidentally, while rushing, turned off the car b4 the radio and was reintroduced to this noise. now since a member of this addictive forum, i got curious. does n e 1 else have this problem?? does n e 1 kno wat this is?
BanginOnABudget Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 its the audio signal being cut? my home amps and mp3 player do the same thing. im taking out my passenger seat, battery is disconnected, going to unwire and take out the three amps, take out the 70+ lb box, then the platform so i can crimp 1 wire. Almost as bad as those fegs that put those horns in their grills and roll down the street distorting the block.... 1990 Jeep Cherokee 2 Dr. Big-3 in 0g on Stock Alt. treossi Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 you grounded them to very thing sheet metal that still has paint on it.. why not running a couple of runs from the front battery to your amp.. grounding at battery is usually the best, i don't like grounding to the frame in the rear.. but it's better than the rear deck that's for sure lol find a thicker spot too on the trunk floor or something or even an existing bolt would be better ground than you have now, sand it down to the bare metal, then ground it there got any pictures of this setup? treo Team sundownWESTCOASTSPL.COM we're throwing dbdrag events very soon visit the website for details
