Quick Install Question

Recommended Posts

So I'm getting ready to put in my HU, but I haven't installed one in a long time. So, I want to get some quick questions answered:

Can I connect the HU's "Switched Power (Ignition) Lead" and the "Battery Lead" to the same wire on the car's wire harness?

If you want your radio to stay on all the time or turn on and off with the car but lose all your presets... yes you can.

What kind of car is it?

Wow, that just answered it all for me cuz I just remembered I had an extra orange wire and now I know what that's for too.

Thanks.

I just checked my wire harness again and there's only one orange/red color and it says "12 Volt Ignition/Switched" on it, so that would be the "Switched Power (Ignition) Lead" on my HU's harness, but there's no Yellow like the diagram says. The only other wire left is an Orange w/ white stipe and it says "Dimmer" on it. So where would my "Battery Lead" go?
