83Maro Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 btw what i said was what the obama haters say... to me i really dont care .. but the taxes in this country blows
sayhuh? Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Colin is running for President.... ENTIRE PLATFORM:NO income tax. NONE! You get every dollar you make. 45% FLAT sales tax. Across the board. Cars, houses, fritos, cokes, you name it. I bet.... I just bet.... people would quit buying things that they don't want (and not need), pay off debt, have cash in the bank, and make good purchase choices. ....lol. I think it would work. No more earned income credit, no credits for kids, no credits for anything! No punishment for getting overtime, none of this "oh, you make 100k a year instead of 80k (or whatever) so now instead of 18% you go to 35% (or whatever)" none! People are encouraged to make money, get out of debt, keep cash, and make informed sales decisions. But... this would never happen. The guvment wants us to be recipients with our hands out- not providers with working hands. How else would we need the government??? Off rant. LoL 20k for a car with 45% tax?? hahaha. Better yet, houses here cost on a median around 350k..it wouldn't be getting people to stop buy things, but more of no one would be afford ANYTHING and not just wants, but needs as well. Maybe 15% would be a little better. Plus, you don't want people to stop buying. It ends the circle of life. LoL Blown

Dr. Johnson Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 You guys that have tax questions need to read pub 17 on the IRS website. It tells you how all the tax credits work how much you get and how much you can make etc. The making work pay credit is not taxable in 2010. The only way taxes are taxable is when you itemize and you may have to pay taxes to the gov for your state taxes you rec. I am happy to answer most questions about taxes as I am an accountant as well. I have NEVER seen gov or state taxes have anything but round amounts from the source unless you go to a place like HR block, Jackson hewitt, etc. and they withold your fees or you are stupid enough to get a rapid refund loan.
Soulman07 Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Meh, make some babies so you get placed in a better tax bracket is the best advice I can give you. Or spend some of the money on education so you can get some back at the end of the year and gain a little bit of knowledge throughout the process of it all. Taxes will forever be there and we'll be forever getting lubed up no matter which president is in office. So I don't know how relevant it was to the thread to state ONE in particular. GROW THE FUCK UP AND ACCEPT THAT YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE GOOD WITH THE BAD AND ENJOY IT FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH AN BE GREAT FULL THAT YOU MAKE SOMETHING INSTEAD OF NOTHING AT ALL!!!!!! /rant That was my word of advice, take it how you'd like not trying to get under your skin or get banned, I'm just saying. 1993 Chevrolet SWB Pickup Viper 791XV Primer Stage 5/8 Static Drop Kinetik HC1800 Big 3 Knu Flex 0 Team Tex Flex

Dr. Johnson Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 No the house credit ends before Nov. You must enter a binding contract before April 30 and be in the house before June 30. to get the 6500 you must live in the home 5 out of the last 8 years. I think this is right. I am a bit tired at the moment. To get the house credit you can only get 10% of the house price up to 6500 or 8000 respectively. if you move before 3 years you must repay it as well.
Dr. Johnson Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 For the improvements you can get up to 30% of the improvements up to a certain amount if they are certified energy savers by the companies. I am also thinking Cali has different requirements and regulations as well.
