Here is the rundown for what my OLD system consisted of:

2 12" MTX Thunder 4500 Subwoofers

1 Alpine MRP-M450 Amplifier

1 sealed box, 1.0 cubic ft PREFAB MTX bass booster box from circuit city (added polyfil)

KDC-MP338 head unit

Pioneer 6x9s ran off HU power

Pioneer 4x6s ran off HU power

Power Acoustik 1 Farad Capacitor (yes i know, fail)

wal-mart scosche wiring kit w/ rockford fosgate RCA cables

Stock 105 amp alternator w/ stock AC Delco Battery

Here is the most RECENT set up:

now i know everybody loves pics, so ive got tons, but none of the car BEFORE anything was put into it.

heres the car this is all going into:

i pulled my trunk lid off because it was COLD AS HELL outside and i didnt wanna be hunched over in the cold for a long time:

did my rear deck, i made the decision to not run my 6x9s back there but get 6.5"s back there eventually though when i get a 4chan:

now for the trunk its self, ran into a little problem.. can ya see it?:

leaking FTMFL....so what i did was i HEAVILY siliconed all cracks and joints bonds etc. for the bottom of the spare tire well there were 2 rusted out holes, i had my dad cut me up some 14"x5"x5" peices of steel and i sealed over the holes with them, and soliconed around the outside to keep water out

now for the scraps, these were ALL over the car, heres after i cleaned over half of it up lol:

my advice for installing secondskin.. dont do it if its <35º outside, i did it in the cold and it liks to not cut as well, and well... you'll get a lot of cuts like i did lol

now for the new HU install

out with the old.. (first pic has my volt meter, which i have NOT found a new spot for yet so its out of the car)

in with the new..

ran into a problem, my HU would not fit into the dash because the RCA cables would hit against a metal support bracket in there:

the HU stuck out about.. 3/4" or so.. PITA and i didnt have a dremel or anything so i had to drill little holes and use pliars to snap the metal between holes to get it out:

fits great now! just need a dremel to shave the sides down

ipod cord ran through glovebox, hidden and handy!

now for wires!

i ran all new RCA cables, one of my KNU karma SS kables broke on me, so i got another pair from a buddy of mine, thanks Jpagan! and bought the 4 chan ones from a friend on ca.com

heres my old pair of karma SS kables, my left chan went out on me oneday and i noticed so as i was investiagating the problem, i saw the soldering came apart so i unscrewed it, and i was like WTF and just ripped it off:

these 4chan ones (green) are GREAT!

running the rca cables to the back along with the remote bass cable for the AQ1200D!

bass knob right on driver side next to the shifter, great position, easy access:

heres where the RCAs come out of to connect to the amps, i ran them under the carpeting for the seats:

stop! power wire time, kicker 1/0 for main run

running through the firewall from the inside

under the carpet of course!

running through the engine bay, had to remove airbox and fuse box, PITA!

mounted fuze holder on fusebox:

i mounted my distros on the back of the box ONLY cause i couldnt find another good location for them..

positive:

negative, blue wire is from big three alt to positive:

engine block to ground, except i grounded it right to the battery:

heres where i ran my power wires to the distro then to the amps, big blue = hyperflex, red to the sub amp then little blue is to my FS amp

now, i had my box built by Mike from AMICREATIONS (you can find him on CACO and ca.com, not sure if he's on here?) GREAT guy who does TREMENDOUS WORK!

specs:

4.0 cubes after displacment

60aq inches of port, tuned to 35hz

now when i got the box i was excited to get it in, god damn thing wouldnt go through the trunk opening so i had to remove my WHOLE back seat to get it in..

this box is HUGE! not much room left on either side

just waiting for a few things, i do have my mids and highs in but im going to be upgrading to a aq 4x90 4 chan, ill be picking it up from a guy locally tomorrow (i think at this point) and that will be getting installed and MIGHT pick up some rockford fosgate POWER series comps for front and put my RSD mids in the back
