EricR Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 well ive heard steve has his 1500.1bd's modded to run at 1 ohm but i would also understand they get hot which i would install a fan or 2.....but how is this done cuz im screwed with only 750 watts to my btl untill i can afford another 1500.1bd Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
sean 371 Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 I believe he somehow takes out the protect circuitry, no idea how thats done though. Forevrbumpn Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 I heard, from someone who did it to thier BD1501s it was Diode #247- But again, not sure if it was the 1500, or the 1501, or if the even use the same exact board... I would message P1GGY Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
Chris Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Look for diode D106. Thats the one that needs to get taken out. Your thermal protection will still function but it will then be stable at 1ohm. Just don't go below that. I've heard it's a very small diode also, so be careful & maybe post some pics before you take it out just to make sure. GOOD LUCK!!!
