black_friday
I have been planning to do a build in my car for about 3 years now and finally got into it this week. Here is a run down of my audio equipment: Head Unit: Eclipse CD7000 Fronts: Diamond Audio Hex Compenents 6.5" Rears: Jbl P963 6x9's Big 3 upgrade: Welding cable Alternator: Motor City Reman 200 amps HO Seconday Battery: Shuriken 2600 cca dry cell Sub: Planet Audio BB215D 15" 1500watts rms 3000 watts peak 4 channel: Arc Audio FD4150 Mono Block: Arc Audio FD1200.1 Sound deadening: Hushmat and elemental designs edead about 3 layers all over I started by sound deadening the entire trunk Then I did the rear deck Then I hit all 4 doors this is a pic of the sub amp. The 4 channel is identical. The grey end caps hide all of the wiring. Arc Audio boasts that these amps were meant to be played for long periods of time without over heating. they have internal 3" cooling fans on the bottom after finding the right angle, I cut out 3" holes just below the internal fans so they can breathe and painted the mounts black. After I cut out the base for my amp rack, I mounted the amps at a slight angle toward each other. the amp racks will give the eye the perception that the amps are floating! My buddy exposport came by to help and boy did he ever. Special thanks to him. We make a great team! Test fit the first top plate on the amp rack. Looking good rack complet before rounding all of the edges wired to 2 ohms the box skeleton a view of the baffle to be mounting a 15" sub in a 16" tall box leaves you no room for error... I mounted the sub off center to leave room for my to aero ports

Tehehehehe! origional test fit in the car looks great! a side view of the sub side by side compared to a diamond audio D615... doesnt even compare a good pic of my car. I do have limo tint on my windows now though. I got so much mdf dust on me, I didnt even look black anymore! Just jokin. Thats exposport. Torres
haha dust from router + no ventilation = messy as shit lol. couple more sub shots. first time seeing a planet audio sub in person. it's impressive. and very nice quality it's got some beef to it! not a big fan of wrapping inside corners, so what i did was indent a little bit with my roundover bit. this will give us a nice straight edge to cut along the fabric. and the inside will be painted black, or another color if he wants, to give some nice contrast. inside will be lit up under the amps. the windows are big so you can see the ghost mount on em. and we decided to go straight with the windows because it's easier, and there's a possibility of changing amps down the line. so then he'll only need to change the base instead of the whole thing. we test fit an amp and it looks good in there. just needs to be shifted towards the center a couple inches is all. it's a snug ass test fit too. thought we might have to cut it down the middle and put it in two pieces, but we can cut a half inch off each side and get it in there which will be better. hopefully we can get more work done on it soon. i wanna see it get done and fired up

black_friday
time to wrap the box and start on the amp rack first side came out pretty good second side looked alot better ready for the two aero ports and sub now! I cant wait to hear it! my glue gun was clogged up (because somebody didnt fill it with acetone while it was sitting) so I literally used a paint brush to apply glue to the amp rack and the back of the carpet. that rack is gonna loo good when its done!
