Mobile Chassis Dyno
I read somewhere that instaling a second battery with a stock alternator cuases stress on the alternator is this true? Becuases i was thinking about putting a second battery in my truck but if it is going to cause stress i dont want to. & if it does cuase stress is it enough to do any harm? I can see it causing stress if both of your batteries were discharged. I am sure it would have to work its ass off to recharge and to maintain the vehicles need for power. I added a second battery to my probe and noticed a difference right away in how loud it was. Waiting for the experts to chime in. raytard
each battery you add needs about 10 amps extra just to float it. the issue comes in where you drain that battery down (too much draw, not enough amps from alt) and the alt works double hard to charge both batteries and play the system and keep the car working. H.O. alt FIRST batteries SECOND caps if you compete in sq and need to smooth out some ripples, otherwise their useless Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC

raytard
250watts shouldnt make any difference to your vehicle check all your settings and connections. and yes an alt fixes the problem, not covering the symptoms Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
STEvil
250w? do the big 3. And your alt could already be on the way out. Go to a wrecking yard and grab a second alt for cheap. Put it in place of the AC if you have it. If not slap together a bracket. Quote MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
