kickerfanatic
i built this for my wife's orion hcca 4000 watt sub. the box is 3.7 cubic feet slot ported built above manufactures specs.. why because i knew i would get more sound from a bigger box.. here is the deal the sub can handle 3000 watts rms power daily with no problems.. my zapco amp is only pushing out probally about 1400 watts rms.. so in order to sound better you need a bigger box to make up for the sub being under powered.. i made this box to fit perfectly in the trunk right under the rear deck where the 6x9's are and to not take up hardly no room.. it fits perfect.. and the sound is amazing.. only thing left to do is to cover it up.. im unsure is im doing carpet or leather or what color as well.. so for now i just hooked it up in my house to bench test it and holy cow its fooking loud.. my kitchen cabinets opened up and 1 of my plates fell out and broke...  this box and sub is just straight sick.. i made a video but every time i try to upload it on photobucket it will freeze and get stuck at 60%. but i will find out a way to upload it.. you can see the subs 4'' of excursion in the video.. the amount of air it moves is just insane for a 10'' sub.. UKnoitsMe
can you post pictures of the car???? im about to inherit one and i want to see what all can be done to them! dude, what can't be done with a GM A-Body!! You can put dead bodies in those trunks :01nocomment8so: If you take the factory spare out, you can easily get 4 15"s in there. There will be some (OK ALOT of) trunk rattle, but that's what deadener is for. BTW... if it doesn't already have one, put on a plastic gas cap, and use some clear silicone to fill the gap between the license plate and the gas filler door hinge, and around the tail light sockets. That will help alot. I've had knock in my 77 Delta for years, almost perfected keeping it quiet Quote Man I'm glad I didn't lock this I get to witness two retards holding hands telling each other that it'll be ok because they are awesome. barros57
Those 10" HCCA's are beast! I had one before my 2 15's. I had to recone it b/c it blew, but it was very simple. And that port is not too small. It looks good. I thought Orion rated the 10's at 1500 rms and 3000 max..? I'd made a smaller box if you plan to use 3K watts.
