Battery Voltage used to be 14.5 but now is 12.3

Recommended Posts

Im running a Shuriken BT-20 AGM Battery as a secondary to power my system. I have Stinger 4 Gauge wire hooked up to the front batt with a 80amp fuse inline to the BT-20 and my voltage on the BT-20 went from the high 14 volt mark to 12.3volts at the most. What is wrong and why wont my BT-20 Battery charge up to its 14 volts anymore. I took the battery out of a 4runner and hooked it up the same way in my jeep that it was in the 4runner but the voltage is lower then when it was in the 4runner hooked up exactly the same.

Is the battery grounded?

Is that voltage read with the car on or off?

I wonder if the alternator just happened to take a dump at the same time. Sounds like you are running off the batteries to me.
