Dual voice coil

Recommended Posts

I forget, but I think shorting the second coil keeps the t/s parameters close to the original values.

Don't quote me on that, I'll claim I did not say it if it is wrong. :)

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

I don't get it. It's very simple how to wire a DVC. The jl audio website has diagrams for up to 6 woofers. Looking at ur setup, u seem to know ur stuff. Why would u want a abc instead if it means less power? J/w

I always believed it would be ok to run two coils separately at half the watts...ex dvc4 ohm sub 1krms run 2 channels of 500rms to each coil.

Like as in that is the third option, after series and parallel
